On 22nd and 23rd of November, the Costa del Sol, will become the European capital of emerging tecnologies, as during those days, more than 400 international experts in the field will gather at the
Trade Fairs and Congress Centre of Málaga to celebrate EmTech Spain 2012 organized by
MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and the Technology Review magazine.
This is the second time that the Costa del Sol is chosen to celebrate this event. Small and large companies will join forces to develop strategies and policies to support new technology and entrepreneurs, together with leading universities, says the editor of Technology Review in Spanish, Pedro Moneo.
This year, for the first time, the University of Málaga will officially participate in the Spanish edition of the prestigious EmTech, unique in the European continent. The EmTech also takes place in other technological capitals, in countries like China, Colombia, United States and India and according to Moneo "the strategy of EmTech are to implement these conferences in the capitals of the world of technology."
This conference will bring together the most important technological gurus of the world, entrepreneurs and investors that are interested in learning about the various projects and to meet the most promising young Spanish innovators. For this reason, the EmTech Spain is considered the conference that is most important in the field of technology which is held throughout the year at the University," remarked the editor of Technology Review.
The Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, believes this event provides a "great opportunity for the city" because being the only European city where EmTech is being held provides "the exclusivity of being the first, to take the lead."
The various presentations, made by national and international experts, will address topics such as the challenges to be faced by the cities of the future, energy and services, the role played by social networks and in the field of medicine to explain the approach to innovations. Furthermore the
TR35 awards will be presented to the next generation of young innovators.
