The sale of properties in Andalusia has increased by 5.6% in August 2012 compared to the same month of 2011, having sold a total of 5.526 properties, said Tuesday the National Statistics Institute (
INE).
On a national level, the number of sales has increased 3% in August compared to the same month of 2011, to a total of 27.708 operations, of which 49.8% were performed on resale properties and 50.2% on new developments.
According to the statistical data from the INE gathered by Europa Press, the Andalusian community was again the autonomous community with the highest number of properties sold in August 2012.
Thus, in August free housing sales is up 7.07% year on year to yearm, with 4,965 homes sold, while social housing with 561 properties exchanged, represents a decrease of 5.2 percent compared to the same month last year.
In this regard, Andalusia is the community with the highest number of sales of private housing and the community with the highest number of sales of social housing in Spain.
Meanwhile, the number of sales of new homes increased in August 2012 by 10.6%, with the transmission of 3,054 properties, while transactions of second hand homes remains the same compared to 2011, with a total of 2472 transactions.
Most of the properties in Andalusia that were transmitted in August were free (of private ownership) and accounted for 89.8% of the total, while the rest were social housing properties.
By provinces, of the 5526 properties sold in Andalusia, 1,805 were sold in Málaga, followed by Seville with 768, Cadiz with 696 properties sold, Almería with 676, Granada with 575, Huelva with 458, Córdoba with 299, and Jaén with 249.
Apart from urban properties (houses and other properties of urban nature), the number of rustic properties transmitted (like fincas) in August 2012 was 21,853 in Andalusia, representing an increase of 11% compared with August 2011, from that most of the transactions were for urban farms, with 18,421, and the rest, 3,432, on rustic plots. Within rustic properties found on urban areas, 10,231 were transmitted as homes, 993 as plots and 7.197 as other types of urban properties.
